Tiltridge Vineyard is situated in the Severn Valley approximately one mile west of the attractive riverside town of Upton-upon-Severn and close to the Malvern Hills.

The vineyard itself is a small family-run concern which began life in the Springs of 1988 and 1989 when the two vineyards were planted. Our first commercial crop was picked in 1991 and we have been open to the public since 1992.

Three varieties of vine were originally planted, two of German stock called Schonburger and Huxelrebe and a French variety called Seyval Blanc.

Our wines are distinctively crisp, clean and fragrant, characteristics typical of the English style, and have earned considerable success at competitions. In 1994 we won a Bronze Award in the national English Wine of the Year competition and "Wine of the Year" in the South West Vineyards Association annual competition.

Recently we have successfully produced quality sparkling wines made by the "methode champagnoise" (for which we won a second national Bronze Medal in 1996 and a third in 1998). Another new venture for us is the production of a lightly oaked wine made from our Seyval grapes. The base wine was kept on oak chippings for several months and has produced a dry wine with a lovely buttery tone. We have now purchased our own oak barrel and are in the process of producing our second oaked wine.
